This wire tree sculpture is made from a copper wire coated with in a black finish and I wanted to “draw” the tree in 3D and allow it to break free from the normal construction process. Within this tree a lot of my typical rules have been broken including how the tree stays structurally sound and the way the branch tips just drift off into nothing. This is certainly a style I enjoy as it gives such freedom but it will never replace my primarily creation style.
This wire tree is very abstract and should be treated as so. The root structure barely represents roots but we know that is exactly what they are. It sits on a simple slate base and is best displayed against a light or white background to accentuate the flow of the design.
