This is an informal bonsai wire tree sculpture. I have returned to one of my favourite aluminium wires for this piece; the wire is sturdy yet delicate and always leads to lovely strong and elegant trees.
I have followed an informal bonsai style for this piece with multiple twists in the trunk and a flattened canopy that leads the eye back around the foliage clumps making for a wider and more flattering tree.
I have crafted this wire tree sculpture to have exposed roots that contrast strongly against a wooden plinth that has finished in black. The heavy contrast between the silver roots and black base adds to the visual impact of this piece. The base is completed with felt on the underside so that the tree can safely find a home on even the most delicate of household surfaces.
