This is a formal bonsai wire tree sculpture. This piece utilises one of my favourite wires – the antique silver wire. This material is sturdy and designed to last while being very delicate in appearance and really lends itself to making gorgeous 3D foliage clumps that are very intricate and visually appealing.
This chokkan style bonsai has an impressive top canopy and good flow of energy through the design. It is well balanced with two large foliage clumps on either side of the straight trunk.
The piece has exposed twisted roots that are dispersed over a high quality cherry wood plinth. The red tones in the wooden plinth really complement the silver wire well and lends an additional level of aesthetic appeal to the piece.
