This is a sculpture of an informal style bonsai. I have used a sturdy yet lightweight antique silver wire that really adds to the beauty of the twists in the informal truck and highlights the intricacy of the 3D foliage that I have sculpted.
This informal bonsai wire tree sculpture has been mounted onto a lovely flat shell that has natural highlights of browns and creams. This really compliments to root structure that is growing on the shell and anchoring the tree to the ground. The use of natural materials always appeals to me as I love the natural beauty and majesty of trees and I find that working in wire really provides a lovely contrast to the natural materials used in the sculpture.
I have also crafted a similar antique silver bonsai mounted on to shell – this time of a formal style bonsai onto a concave shell. The pair look very good together and would make a lovely matching set on someones mantlepiece. You can find the other tree listed here.
