In this wire tree sculpture I have decided to combine three of my favourite coloured wires: rose gold, antique silver and old. These colours really complement one another and add to the visual appeal of the tree.
I have created a smaller tree that reminds me of natural trees found in the United Kingdom, such as the Oak tree. The messy 3D foliage creates a very interesting piece and the interplay of the colours really add to this.
To me this piece highlights the natural splendour and majesty of wild trees where their growth appears seemingly random in their construct to the human eye but always have a strong survival justification in reality.
I have mounted exposed roots onto a lovely slate base. The contrast between the simplicity of the slate and the interplay of the colourful twisted roots really adds another dimension of interest to the piece.
